More Snow!!!

1/ Gra's chain fitting record currently stands at 4 min 2/ Today's lunch spot - outside Brrrrrr!!

LOOK, I'M SORRY!! It just keeps SNOWING here! For all those who are sick of skiing photos or can't bear any more powder shots...skip today's blog.

It has snowed heavily all night and throughout the day today. We had to spend about an hour clearing the snow from our driveway and even then Graeme had to fit chains on top of the snow tyres just to get up our street!! This is getting serious!

We decided to go touring today. We felt that the avalanche danger was going to be higher than the "Moderate " they were reporting. With all the snow coming down visability was poor, so we chose to stay in our own little Les Carroz area and ski the trees. Our resort is not open until the weekend - we had the place to ourselves. The chairlifts were all being tested and it was very distracting to be walking up the hill when a perfectly good chairlift was passing us overhead!

We stopped for lunch at an old cow barn in the middle of the field. It was deserted but it appeared to have been converted into some sort of outdoor pursuits centre. As it was all locked up, we ate our sandwiches outside on the bench in the snow. Brrrr!!! After lunch and a nice cup of hot tea (we take a thermos with us) we went in search of powder runs through the trees.....the photos below say it all.

Tonight we are off to Liz and Rick's for dinner. We will be meeting up again with Sue and Gavin and Liz's brother and his family. If previous social gatherings are anything to go by ...I expect we won't be home before 1am!!
